Quintile groups
Quintile groups - groups of population (households) formed by dividing the total population (households) into 5 numerically equal parts.
When constructing quintile groups, the population (households) is ranked by the level of average per capita disposable resources (income) in ascending order, and then divided into five equal groups, each of which includes 20% of the total population (households). As a result, the first quintile group (lowest) includes 20 per cent of the population (households) with the lowest level of average per capita disposable resources (income), the second quintile group includes the next 20 per cent of the population (households) and so on, and the fifth quintile group (highest) includes 20 per cent of the population (households) with the highest level of average per capita disposable resources (income).
