Intellectual Property Products



Intellectual property products are the result of research, development, investigation or innovation leading to knowledge that the developers can market or use to their own benefit in production because use of the knowledge is restricted by means of legal or other protection.

Examples of intellectual property products are the results of research and development, mineral exploration and evaluation, computer software and databases, and entertainment, literary or artistic originals. They are characterized by the fact that most of their value is attributable to intellectual endeavour. They can be described in general terms in the following way.
